Check-In Methods

Overview

Door James supports three different check-in methods depending on your organization's configuration:

  • In-app Check-In

  • QR Code Check-In

  • Geofence Check-In

The available methods depend on the booking rules configured by your administrator.

Method 1: In-App Check-In

If your organization allows manual check-in:

  1. Open your current booking from the Home screen.

  2. Tap Check In.

Note: Your administrator defines how early check-in becomes available. The available check-in window may differ between offices.

Method 2: QR Code Check-In

For assets with QR stickers:

  1. Arrive at your booked asset.

  2. Open the QR Scanner next to your profile picture.

  3. Scan the QR code attached to the asset.

Some assets require QR Code Check-In and cannot be checked in manually.

QR stickers also allow users to quickly open or book the asset directly.

Method 3: Geofence Check-In

Geofence Check-In automatically checks you in when you arrive at your office.

How it works

A virtual geofence is created around the office or campus.

When you enter this area, Door James can automatically complete the check-in.

Privacy

Door James does not continuously track your location.

  • Your location is only used at the moment you enter the geofence.

  • No continuous tracking is performed.

  • Geofence location data is not stored.

Requirements

To use Geofence Check-In:

  1. Allow Always location access for Door James.

  2. You can enable this during app setup or later in your phone's settings.

Once enabled, check-in happens automatically whenever you arrive.

FAQ

Why can't I manually check in?

Some asset types only allow QR Code or Geofence Check-In. These rules are configured by your administrator.

Why isn't Check-In available yet?

Your organization defines how early check-in becomes available before the booking starts.

Why isn't Geofence Check-In working?

Verify that:

  • Always location permission is enabled.

  • Geofence Check-In is enabled by your organization.

  • Your device location services are turned on.
